Reading Between the Lines: An Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Book Club
Join PAEA’s Diversity and Inclusion Mission Advancement Commission (DIMAC) as we dive deep and read between the lines of books that impact our patients, our communities, and each other. We will amplify and highlight diverse communities and their intersections with our health care system. This is not your average book club.
Keeping in mind your load as a PA educator, there will be no pop quizzes or mandatory attendance. Whether you’ve finished the chapter assigned for that meeting or want to join to listen to the discussions, you will be welcomed.
We will also utilize the “Reading Between the Lines Book Club” Professional Learning Community (PLC) (located in the Member Community) to keep the conversation going outside of book club meetings and for those unable to attend the virtual sessions.
The first 50 people to sign up will receive a free copy of this year’s book Take My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. On the author’s website, the book is described as “Inspired by true events that rocked the nation, a searing and compassionate new novel about a Black nurse in post-segregation Alabama who blows the whistle on a terrible injustice done to her patients.”
Interested members can register here.
