Description: Carroll College invites applications for the position of Medical Director of the developing Physician Assistant Program. The medical director is a part-time (with the possibility of full-time, depending on candidate), 12-month faculty appointment in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the rank of assistant/associate professor. Rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The medical director will report directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director and the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the medical director supports the development of the program competencies to meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role. In addition to teaching and administrative responsibilities within the program, the medical director serves as a liaison between the PA program and the medical community and works closely with the Director of Clinical Education to develop and maintain high quality clinical training sites. Prior experience working with physician assistants is strongly preferred. Previous experience teaching physician assistant and/or medical students is preferred.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be a currently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physician in good standing with a state Board of Medical Examiners. Must have or be eligible to apply for professional licensure in the state of Montana. Must be currently certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board and must have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a physician.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
