Position Summary The Physician Assistant program at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, Department of Health Sciences, is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join our academic program. This fixed-term, open-rank position is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, engaged PA to become a part of our newly accredited academic program. This position also offers the possibility of serving as Director of Pre-Clinical Education based on interest and experience.
The position is a 12-month, full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of PA Studies and serves as Principal Faculty position in its Department of Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Didactic instructional preparation including engaging classroom instruction, varied assessment, ongoing curriculum evaluation and modification, student progress monitoring, and student advising.
* Assisting with the admissions process as well as the design and implementation of student orientation.
* Engage in student and alumni mentoring efforts, recruitment and retention initiatives, ongoing accreditation compliance, general program support, and service to the profession.
* Clinical practice 1-2 days a week.

Assistant/Associate Professor of PA Studies and Principal Faculty in Physician Assistant Studies report to the Department Chair and Program Director of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program. Underrepresented populations in medicine and higher education are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements * Minimum of three years professional clinical practice experience involving direct patient care
* Certification by the appropriate certifying body
* Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
* Dynamic and innovative educator with strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Prefer a minimum two years of clinical experience in physician assistant education.
