George Fox University announces a full-time faculty position in the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) Program to begin in January 2024. The faculty member supports the overall development and delivery of curriculum in the DMSc program. This position has the option to be fully remote, which would require travel to the main George Fox campus in Newberg, Oregon a few times a year.
Management Duties
- Participate in ongoing program review and analysis
- Participate in university accreditation activities
- Participate in faculty development and coordination of activities
- At the direction of the Program Director, supervise staff or student work study
- Participate in service trip development, planning and implementation (international and domestic)
General Education Duties
- Participate in the DMSc program's delivery of curriculum (teaching and instruction)
- Participate in the evaluation of student performance
- Provide remedial instruction when needed
- Participate in curriculum development, ongoing evaluation, and coordination of instruction
- As necessary, provide academic counseling
Other Duties
- If desired, participate in clinical practice and scholarly activities
- Additional duties as needed and assigned by the DMSc Program Director
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in health or medical related field is required
- Graduate of an accredited PA program with current NCCPA certification is desired but not required
- Demonstration of experience working with and ongoing commitment to rural and/or underserved communities and delivery of care in challenging environments
- Evidence of leadership within healthcare and/or medical education
- Experience with international and/or domestic medical mission trips
- Excellent organizational skills in the area of curriculum delivery and service trip implementation
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred
- All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
- Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
Salary and Rank
Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
